Yet again, working with parties in a mediation this week I was reminded of the range of solutions that are simply not options in other processes.

When I trained as a mediator in London in 2008, we started off with a classic definition of mediation, essentially a confidential process that provides parties involved in a dispute with the chance to work together to find a solution, with the help of a neutral person, the mediator.
